Rev. Dr. Chris Abhulime, Pastor, King’s Tabernacle

The Rev. Dr. Chris Abhulime, affectionately known as Pastor Chris, is the founding pastor of The King’s Tabernacle Church, a Pentecostal non-denominational church with headquarters in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Pastor Chris is a committed servant-leader with a global vision to bring the good news of salvation to all people, building a Christ-centered relationship, and empowering people to fulfill their God-given rights. His leadership acumen continues to expand and grow the influence of the King’s Tabernacle Church in the Greater Johnston Area. Pastor Chris is an international conference speaker and has volunteered with several domestic and international Christian organizations.

Pastor Chris is an avid advocate for many important civic and social issues that affect Rhode Islanders especially the minority communities.  In 2003, he founded Operation Timothy, a young adult empowerment program that have graduated many successful Christian men and women.

Pastor Chris is currently partnering with Mayor Polisena and other stakeholders to promote mental health wellness in middle to late childhood development, and increased support for substance abuse recovery/culturally appr in Johnston, Rhode Island.

Pastor Chris is an active member of the African Community Leadership Forum (ACLF-RI), an advocacy group that promote civil participation, leadership enrichment and a vehicle for collective action. He is also a member of the NAACP Providence Branch. Pastor Chris sits on the Rhode Island Attorney General Board for Community Engagement, Congressman Langevin 2nd Congressional District Diversity & Equality Committee, The Southern Providence County Regional Coalition (Cranston, Johnston, North Providence, Smithfield, and Scituate), Town of Johnston Opioid Use Prevention Task Force, and Gov. Gina M. Raimondo Equity Council.

Pastor Chris earned a Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from the University of Ibadan, Nigeria, Master of Science in Clinical Laboratory Sciences from the University of Rhode Island, and Diploma in Theology from the Salem Bible College. He is an accomplished biopharmaceutical scientist and operational lab manager who has spent the last 16 years working extensively in Research & Development at Amgen Inc., Sanofi-Genzyme and UMASS Medical School.

Pastor Chris currently resides in North Providence, Rhode Island. He and his wife, Moe, are proud parents of Ephraim and Ethan.
